Luciano Figueroa to La Bombonera
By: j | October 9th, 2008With his playing time vanished, Luciano Figueroa has been loaned to Boca Juniors till the end of June. This will be a tremendous return home for the twenty-seven year old Argentine and provides him the honour of playing at La Bombonera. It will of-course be an interesting return for Luciano as he is quite familiar with Boca as he formerly was a member of arch-rival River Plate and competed in the Superclásico.
The Bosteros have been troubled of late, losing three matches in row and a full eight points behind San Lorenzo. Carlos Ischia’s efforts have been further complicated with Martin Palermo out for four months and Luciano will likely step in for him immediately, joining the great Juan Román Riquelme in the lineup. In wearing la azul y oro Luciano responded:
“I will defend the Boca shirt with all my heart.”
La Doce will welcome Luciano on October 26th as he faces Rosario Central where he started his career but he is expected to get his first action and quite a “reception” at El Monumental against River Plate on the 19th in one of the sports greatest events.
