Genoa v Bologna match preview

By: j | April 25th, 2009

The Rossoblu head to Bologna with their sites firmly set on earning a Champions League berth. Trailing Fiorentina by a single point, a victory would return Gian Piero Gasperini’s side back into fourth place as they head into the final month of the campaign.

The big news of the for Genoa is the return of Diego Milito to the fold and he is expected to form the attacking trident alongside in-form Raffaele Palladino and Giuseppe Sculli. Genoa’s health is returning to optimal with the only notable exceptions being Alessio Scarpi and Matteo Paro.

For the home side the recent play has been disastrous, losing five successive matches while being out-scored 15-4 during the period and costing Siniša Mihajlović his managerial job. With five matches remaining, their hopes to avoid relegation hopes will be greatly advanced with points against Genoa.

I can’t belive it…..wow, I cant believe Genoa lost to Bologna and they are just letting Fiore take the 4th CL spot.

Better luck next match, as I think you deserve 4th place more than that other team.

I agree, but Genoa are doing a great job blowing it!

I was at the match today, and while Bologna played pretty well, the problem was that Genoa really didn’t play like a team that wanted to win. Did they forget that Fiorentina won yesterday?
