Enrico Preziosi looking to add further “perle sul piatto”
By: j | June 3rd, 2009As per the Genoa web-site the club is going through the final stages of completing the transfer to bring Sergio Floccari from Atalanta’s and Inter Milan’s Hernán Crespo to the Rossoblù. Both players are likely to be formally introduced shortly but this seems
In addition to trying to woo Ricardo Quaresma to ply his trade in Genova, club president Enrico Preziosi is very interested in Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Juninho, Moussa Dembélé from Eredivisie champions AZ and Fernando Menegazzo from Bordeaux. Of the latter three the commentary seems more to be a “wish-list” best of players of interest. Whle Juninho at thirty-four years of age is definitely still remarkable from set plays, the young Belgian striker Moussa Dembélé is full of enormous promise and would be a premier signing for years to come.

How about Acquafresca? Will he be loaned out, or is there still a possibility he’ll be in rossoblu this fall?
And any insight into Criscito’s future? Does Preziosi have the money, and the desire, to buy him outright from Juve?

Dembele is class. Would be a great signing.

I like Fernando too as well. I know my team Palermo was looking at him too but he will most likely move to Genoa.

Few questions for you, J-
Do you think Genoa is going to try and buy out Palladino or Olivera? I assume not Criscito, who’s said he wants to try to win at Juve.

Ricci, you must be referring to former Boca Juniors Fernando Forestieri. He’s brilliant and I’d like to see more of him next year in Genoa.
Nnahoj, I completely agree and he would provide an entire different gear for the attack.
California Pete, money is definitely becoming an issue should they land some of their targets. As Alession alluded to Domenico Criscito is making a strong push for Juventus.
Alessio, I can tell you that I’d like to see them make a reasonable offer to buy them out but Genoa is going in a dozen different directions right now and it depends on other situations. I have to admit with their transaction with Inter I would have preferred more of a plan towards the future (i.e. Davide Santon, Robert Acquafresca).
