I think you and I are in complete agreement and I believe very strongly of Football talent in the broad region defined as the Balkans. As it relates to Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro, the wealth of talent is extraordinary and yet the scouting from teams outside horribly bad regardless of what clubs claim. I certainly agree with your commentary on Russia as I write the blog on Russian Football here as well. I'm glad you enjoyed your time in Genova, not to far from my home as well so maybe one day we can meet up for a match. Very nice to see the Neapolitans doing well and I am encouraged by their ownerships investment in the clubs future. Hopefully the return to glory during Maradona's days are ahead for you. some of the players you see are as technically good as the spaniards, brazilians and italians but they also have that hardness that people associate with eastern europe. especially players like vidic. well just look at the croatia national team they have done great things. and even russia. i like jankovic especially though some of the goals he can score are amazing its a shame he couldnt get a game at palermo they seem to have alot of internal troubles but i hope he can become the player he was meant to be at genoa.
ive been an admirer of genoa since visiting genova a few years back and more so since the promotion from serie b the celebrations were amazing (im a napoli fan) and you have been going from strength to strength since! its down to the shrewd business of your management your bringing in some real classy players (huge fan of criscito hoping we will sign him in the near future) and getting milito back is a master stroke. i would love for both of us to get into the champions league and who knows in the next couple of seasons the way we are going we may even be challenging eachother for the scudetto! haha im a dreamer

Alex, I am glad to see you agree. Eastern Europe is a vast wealth of talent and I personally believe it is scouted horribly. Zoran Tošić and Adem Ljajić are brilliant signings for Man Utd but there is at least twelve others within Rad, Partizan, Vojvodina and Crvena zvezda that possess extraordinary potential.

Expanding the horizon to include Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro that talent pool is stunning.

being from england i have noticed more and more eastern european players coming through and just how talented some of them are. berbatov is the prime example and vidic. and of course man utd have just signed those two players from belgrade who are meant to be amazing its good to see eastern european players finally coming through

Genova is doing a wonderful job and continue to grow in confidence each week.

Alex, yes Boško is doing well and I know supporters would appreciate the young man if they were to get to know him more. I’ve watched him play for quite a long time and was very pleased to see him a part of the club this year.

Hopefully his success will lead to some other top flight talent in Serbia making their way to Serie A. Siniša Mihajlović of Bologna is looking at Dušan Tadić and Danijel Aleksić of Vojvodina, which is good because each have boundless potential. Pay close attention to Nenad Krstičić of Sampdoria as well.

More shocking than having comments on this blog (much less a visitor – lol) is that Boško Janković’s contract has a full purchase clause. I thought it was limited and he was set to return to Palermo. However I will check.

j – something tells me we won’t get Bosko back at the end of the summer. for some reason, i think Genoa can buy him outright at the end of the season. colantuono screws us over once again.
